In the vibrant city of Singapore, two souls from different cultural backgrounds embarked on a beautiful journey that would shape their lives forever.

2018: A fateful encounter brought Syafiq and Ardini together on a sunny afternoon. Their first date at Eighteen Chefs sparked a deep connection, followed by an exploration of art and culture at the Singapore Arts Museum.

October 14th, 2018: On this significant day, Syafiq and Ardini embraced their love and became an official couple, their hearts filled with joy and anticipation.

Ups and Downs: Together, they faced challenges and triumphs, knowing their love would carry them through, guided by their unwavering belief in the power of their bond.

Monthsaries and Milestones: Each month became a celebration of their love, from indulging in churros to sharing precious moments at special events, creating cherished memories.

Divine Blessings: In January 2023, Syafiq began experiencing a series of vivid dreams, foretelling a joyous union with Ardini. Interpreting these dreams as a sign from Allah and a blessed affirmation of their love, Syafiq knew in his heart that Ardini was meant to be his life partner.

Engagement and Wedding Planning: On February 25th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones, Syafiq and Ardini joyfully announced their engagement, embarking on a journey of wedding planning filled with excitement and love.

Family Union: With the engagement, their families came together for the first time, embracing the union and celebrating the forthcoming wedding, a joyous occasion that would further strengthen the bond between both families.

The Tunang / Merisik Ceremony

Part 1: A Union of Families

In accordance with our cherished Malay customs and Islamic traditions, our families came together for the significant Tunang/Merisik ceremony. Filled with anticipation and respect for our heritage, our families gathered to discuss the terms of our forthcoming wedding. Elders from both sides engaged in meaningful conversations, fostering a sense of unity and mutual understanding.

Part 2: The Sarung Cincin Ceremony

In a moment brimming with symbolism and love, my mother, a symbol of love and guidance, approached Ardini. With grace and tenderness, she adorned Ardini's hand with the engagement ring, symbolizing the acceptance of our union. This act represented the joining of our lives and the embrace of Ardini into our family, as guided by the blessings of Allah.

Following this heartfelt exchange, it was my turn to participate in the Sarung Cincin ceremony. Ardini's father, a symbol of honor and authority, bestowed his blessings upon our union by gently placing the ring on my finger. This momentous gesture signified his acceptance and trust in our commitment, as we embarked on a journey of love and togetherness.

In the presence of our families, we cherished the unity and blessings that encompassed this sacred occasion. We were grateful for the guidance of Allah and the support of our loved ones as we took these significant steps towards our wedding.

May the grace of Allah continue to bless our union, as we honor our heritage and embark on a future filled with love, respect, and devotion.
